"Your CD / Presentation gives me permission to have a bad day and the incentive to come back the next day to try again; the courage to face my own limitations, and the power to build on my feelings of self doubt. Thanks for the introspection."     Pam Conrad, teacher.

“I found Susan's presentation absolutely awesome. I really hope she can be influence at the university level not only in alternative forms of academic discourse but also in raising music as truly unique way of knowing." Doug Roszmann  B.A., P.D.P., M.Ed. (International Imagination in Education Conference)

Susan is and has been many things: farm kid, lumberpiler, file clerk, social worker, teacher, traveler, mother, musician, community development agent and local food producer advocate. It was in grad school that she learned how to pull together all the threads of her life to see a world full of possibilities...for herself and her students. In completing her master's thesis "Negotiating the Distance" she incorporated interviews and narrative as the more "traditional tools" to explore the way educators negotiate the distance between students and the curriculum. But when it came time to capture her journey and new understandings she was compelled to approach that challenge through metaphor and music.

Susan's keynotes are part narrative and part concert. Susan's courage and ability to articulate the emotion and nuances of the modern educational experience in her multi-layered presentation will at the very least draw you to fresh viewpoints. And those who are ready, she invites on a journey of deep introspection and self discovery.

LIFE IS NOT ABOUT ISOLATED INCIDENTS BUT RATHER A TAPESTRY OF EVENTS THAT WE WEAVE TOGETHER TO CREATE MEANING. YOU COULD BE A THREAD IN SOMEONE ELSE'S MASTERPIECE...YOU MAY NEVER KNOW WHO WILL BECOME A PART OF YOURS.

What happens when education is about coming to a deeper understanding of yourself?
